Meet Neda Piri, owner and senior podiatrist of Podiatry Beyond, a patient-focused clinic located in Mitchelton, Queensland. Born from a desire to give patients more time, attention and quality care, Podiatry Beyond was created during a period when rushed appointments felt like the norm and Neda knew there had to be a better way.
For her, podiatry is more than just feet, it’s about the full picture. From gait assessments and skin care to nail surgeries and children’s foot health, Podiatry Beyond takes a whole-person approach. With a calming, modern space and a brand that breaks away from the usual clinical feel, Neda has made it her mission to change the way people think about podiatry.
In this exclusive interview, Neda shares how she built a standout brand, connected with her community and created a clinic that people feel good walking into (and out of). Let’s meet this local legend!
Tell us about Podiatry Beyond, how did it all get started?
Podiatry Beyond started throughout the COVID lockdowns, and during that time I didn’t feel like I was able to provide my patients with the best quality of work, and a lot of that was because of time restraints. Everything felt really rushed, and I had a vision of creating an environment that kind of eliminated that as a problem and to give me the chance to provide good quality for patients.
When I thought about the kind of brand and company that we wanted to create, I didn’t want people to think that it was associated just with that sterile foot field. I wanted people to come and see a podiatrist more as a way of pampering themselves, associating it with a health service, but also a way for them to relax. I wanted them to have a really positive perception of podiatry, because not a lot of people know what a podiatrist is. We’re looking at your foot, your knee, your hip, we’re able to help with nails, skin, kids, do surgery too, so our field is quite broad.
How do you promote your services and build your branding?
We do love our social media, we love to create really fun and engaging reels or Instagram and we try not to take ourselves too seriously. We’ve tried to dabble in Google ads, we are appearing on Facebook ads as well as in Facebook community pages, also just going to local restaurants, local coffee shops, so people are familiar with me and the brand as well.
When we were building the Podiatry Beyond branding, I knew that green was associated with health, so we definitely wanted to work with that colour, and we engaged with a really awesome web designer slash graphic designer. We focused on trying to have something that would stand out, like with colour as well. We didn’t want something that would just blend into the background. We wanted the colours to be familiar.
I have people coming up to me and joking that podiatry green is the green they’re looking for. So that stands out on all of our branding. And then everything from there was just a thematic choice. So we’ve always stuck to the theme. Everything has been on brand.
What’s your favourite customer success story to share?
I can honestly think of a patient of mine that was in her early 60s, and all she wanted to do was to be able to walk with her grandkids for at least an hour to the park and come back, but because she was never someone that liked to exercise too much, she had no direction what footwear she should be wearing or the strength to be able to do that.
We just got her in the right footwear, we gave her exercises that she could do at home, she didn’t need to have access to a gym for it. That gave her enough confidence because we trusted and we had faith in her that she could do it. And we got her that and she’s always been grateful, she comes in once a year for her annual foot checks as well so she didn’t just stop there. She kept going, looking after her feet and that’s really important for me.
VistaPrint believes in supporting businesses just like Podiatry Beyond. As a customer of VistaPrint, what are your favourite products and how do you use them?
We have a few repeat favourite products that include the rounded corner business cards to write down patient appointment dates and times, the notepads with our branding on there are used daily for quick notes or to write down footwear recommendations and our matte flyers are used within the clinic and handed out to other small businesses, referrers, and kept at our satellite clinic to showcase our services.
By being able to showcase our branding and contact information on all of our stationery, our uniforms (we use the scrubs and also have the caps) and on our marketing products, the Podiatry Beyond brand becomes familiar to our patients and the wider community.
